October 2023 inflation data

The UK’s inflation rate in October 2023, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 4.6%.

The detailed inflation figures for the year to October 2023 are as follows:

  • CPI inflation was 4.6% in October 2023 (Index: 132.0), down from 6.7% in the year to September
  • RPI* inflation was 6.1% in October 2023 (Index: 377.8), down from 8.9% in the year to September
  • CPIH inflation was 4.7% in October 2023 (Index: 130.2), down from 6.3% in the year to September

*The Office for National Statistics no longer regards the RPI as an official measure of inflation.
