September 2024 inflation data

The UK’s inflation rate in September 2024, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 1.7%.

The detailed inflation figures for the year to September 2024 are as follows:

  • CPI inflation was 1.7% in September 2024 (Index: 134.2), down from 2.2% in the year to August
  • RPI* inflation was 2.7% in September 2024 (Index: 388.6), down from 3.5% in the year to August
  • CPIH inflation was 2.6% in September 2024 (Index: 133.5), down from 3.1% in the year to August

*The Office for National Statistics no longer regards the RPI as an official measure of inflation.
