April 2024 inflation data

The UK’s inflation rate in April 2024, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 2.3%.

The detailed inflation figures for the year to April 2024 are as follows:

  • CPI inflation was 2.3% in April 2024 (Index: 133.5), down from 3.2% in the year to March
  • RPI* inflation was 3.3% in April 2024 (Index: 385.0), down from 4.3% in the year to March
  • CPIH inflation was 3.0% in April 2024 (Index: 132.2), down from 3.8% in the year to March

*The Office for National Statistics no longer regards the RPI as an official measure of inflation.
